1. Google

2. Google Drive

6. Google API

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 12, 2026 · Operated by the RemoteDesk developer

RemoteDesk (the "app") is remote-control software made of a Windows PC program, an Android remote app and a Windows remote app. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. In short:

  • The app has no servers run by the developer. The developer does not collect or receive your information.
  • Connection details are stored only in the hidden application data folder of your own Google Drive.
  • Screen images and keyboard/mouse input travel encrypted directly between your two devices and are not stored.
  • There are no ads, analytics or tracking, and no information is sold or shared with third parties.

1. Information accessed through your Google account

ScopeInformation accessedPurpose
openid, emailYour Google account email addressShow in the app which account is signed in
drive.appdataFiles the app itself creates in its Google Drive application data folderExchange PC connection details between your own devices

With drive.appdata the app can only read and write the files it created. It cannot see or modify any of your other Drive files or folders. This folder is not visible in the Drive interface.

2. Information stored in the Google Drive application data folder

  • PC connection details (written by the PC program): PC name, the fingerprint of the PC's identity public key, a random access secret used to authenticate connections, the PC's network addresses (local and public IP addresses and ports), and the time of the last update.
  • Connection requests and answers (written briefly while connecting): the network addresses of the remote device and the PC. The app deletes them once the connection setup is finished.

When the PC program exits or signs out, it also deletes its connection details file. This information stays inside your own Google account and can be read only by your own devices signed in to the same account.

3. Information transmitted during remote control

While connected, the PC's screen video, the mouse cursor shape and position, and the remote device's keyboard, mouse and touch input travel directly between the two devices. All of it is encrypted with a session key from an ECDH P-256 key exchange and AES-256-GCM, and it is not stored after transmission.

4. Information stored on your devices

  • Windows PC program and Windows remote app: settings, the Google sign-in token (encrypted with Windows DPAPI), the PC identity key, and a connection log (IP addresses and times of connecting devices) are stored in that PC's user folder (%APPDATA%\RemoteDesk).
  • Android remote app: settings, the signed-in account email, trusted PCs and key mappings are stored in the app's private storage.

This information does not leave the device and is removed when the app is uninstalled (on Windows, by deleting the folder above).

5. External services

  • Google: used for sign-in and Google Drive storage, governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
  • STUN servers (stun.l.google.com, stun.cloudflare.com): used to learn a device's public IP address. These servers receive only the IP address and port the request came from.

6. Google API Services User Data Policy

RemoteDesk's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide the features described above; it is not used for advertising, is not read by humans, and is not used to train AI models.

7. Deleting information and revoking access

  • Use the Sign out button in each app. The PC program and the Windows remote app also revoke their Google access when you sign out.
  • You can revoke RemoteDesk's access at any time at Google Account → Security → Third-party connections.
  • To remove app data left in Drive, open Google Drive on the web → Settings → Manage apps → RemoteDesk → Delete hidden app data.

8. Children

The app is not directed to children under 14 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version and its effective date will be posted on this page.
